Congratulations Dave, as much as we offered to help buy it back for Danny, you were the driving force behind this, and you got it done, so take a bow son, you deserve a big pat on the back. Tim deserves one too, for loading it up in his t rusty old Mitsubishi ute and delivering it to poor old Danny, so props to Tim as well. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Dave and Warren deserve all the credit for this one.

Dave identified the bike and made all the arrangements. He certainly went the extra mile there.

Warren was kind enough to part with it. There was a fair amount of Black paint all over the bike which he no doubt spent HOURS removing. He also got the bike running. Yet he still sold it for what he had paid.

My opinion is that theres probably a couple folks here that owe Warren an apology.

All I did was fire up the "T-rusty" ute.

I believe we will refer to it as the Zombie Ute.  Probably will decompose and parts will fall off.....but it seems it will take a bullet to the brain to kill it.

Hey nice Sandy Dave! Those "long wheelbase Commodore Utes" you mentioned were actually "stretched" standard utes that were used for Ambulances in NSW, the place that did the conversions was not far from where I used to live in Coburg.

The "6 wheel" one tonners (or "Two Tonners" after the conversion) were used for tow trucks in Sydney in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Most had 350's but some even had 454's, and were much easier to manoeuvre around the tight streets in Sydney's CBD, underground carparks etc.

I don't get it though, Tim's "Zom" has a brain, but no power steering? ;D

Ha ha, nah, once again, in the tight streets of Sydney, they found that the stretched utes with a fibreglass "Box"  fitted on top was a lot easier to manoeuver around than a full size Ambo. I never travelled in one, but they seemed to work OK. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Well done to everyone involved. I think this episode needs some media coverage. :)
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

Happy ending, got to love that. One of the best thread I've read.
“You don’t have to be worried about scratching your bike. You don’t have to be worried about it if gets, you know, dirty. Actually ride it, that’s what it’s made for. We love to make it look differently, but you should also be able to ride it. That’s what it’s all about in the end.” - Nicholas Bech, Wrenchmonkees

Glad to see there are still some decent people in the world.  Glad Danny got his bike back, and impressed to see so much generosity.

Well done fellas.

Everyone thinks Chuck Norris is bad, but Chuck Norris has not meet Lucky either.  Lucky will round house kick Chuck back to 1969 and pop a wheel with the 1st sandcast while shotgunning a PBR!
