Rear brake upgrade to disc

A guy I know has a set of mags, I think they are lesters, but I'm not sure.  They would be on my bike right now if they had a drum brake rear, but they are disc, so what I'm wondering is what would be involved in fitting my bike with a rear disc brake, has anyone done this on a 650?  Mine is a 79 CB650Z.

You would need to fab up a mount for the rear caliper and to find a rear brake lever and MC setup from a 750F. You might be able to adapt a 750F swingarm, which would already have the caliper mount on it.

Anything is possible, it just depends on your personal skill and/or depth of bank account.

Are you sure it's not a Kawasaki wheel? The KZ1000 came with a wheel that looked a lot like a Lester.

Definatly not Kwaka wheels, I have access to a full machine shop with lathes and mills and pretty much anything you could want.  The reason I ask if anyone know how to do this is the 650Z has its pegs set further back than the rest of the CB's that I have seen, and I have no idea on where to mount the master cylinder, and still keep a decent amount of leverage on the master.

It sounds like this is one of those projects that will require multiple solutions from the builder and that you are well equipped for a project like this.

It seems like a lot of effort just to use the wheels you found. Tracking down a set of drum compatible Lesters would be less work and might even cost less in the end.

I realise it would be a lot easier, I was just thinking a brake upgrade wouldn't hurt and would be worth the extra pennies and hassle, maybe.  I do consider the brakes on my 650 to be rather anemic at best and that is even with twin discs up front.  Finding lesters in Australia is nigh on impossible, thats why I was looking into these.  At this stage it is only a thought.
