« on: June 29, 2012, 08:30:52 AM »
Spotted this little beauty at Dahlemer Binz race circuit in Germany last weekend.
The guy who owned /rode it says it won the championship in it's class last year ,also says it produces 60 bhp.
looks and sounds beautiful.

Any idea what the little yellow box on the frame is?
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I like the colour. Wolverhampton Wanderers have a lot to answer for.

I remember that bike being on ebay.de 3 or 4 years ago. I had some detail pics of it somewhere that I took from the listing- it has a really unusual & seemingly over complex external oiling system which I was very curious about, as I'd like to try something similar on my 480 engine. I believe it had never been run at the time, but me & the seller had a bit of a language barrier. I'd also be interested to find out more about the exhaust, have never seen a 400 Yoshi like that. Finally, I remember it as being a 492 not a 460. Good to see it's still around anyway.

Looks like it.  They also milled out every-third "spoke."
Take care,

Is that really what they did to the brake rotor?  Is there a solid history of doing that safely?  That would be a great way to drop weight, especially if the rotor is ground down and drilled too!!

Bump for thoughts on the front disc.  Does anyone have experience removing the inner arms of the rotor?

I saw this picture a while ago and I just can't get my head around whether or not I'd feel comfy with that much material removed from the carrier. It's obvious the bike is raced so I quess I'm just an old poop.

Here's my attempt at carving some weight off the 500 rotors on my racebike. At just under 5mm thick they weigh 1.6kg each, almost a kilo less than stock. Those 400F rotors have to be quite a bit less again.
