it was so hot on my way home
« on: June 29, 2012, 04:44:26 PM »
The grip was slipping on the throttle tube allowing the motor to slow unless I gripped it like I was performing a corporate handshake...

I use Aquanet hair spray for grip glue.  Never had any problems with slippage in heat or wet, and it was free (to me) because I stole it from my then girlfriend, now wife, about ten years ago.  Same can is still going strong. :)

I have ridden here at 102 and very humid, people think it would be comfortable, but it is not.

I wanted to ride today, but did not.  I am a whimp.  102 here today.  Sunday's looking relatively promising though -- only a high of 98.

I am not not sure if removing the side cover would help any.

I have had these grips for 4 years & 12K miles, first time they slipped.  I will ride when it is in the 90's again and see how they do.  They are dirt bike grips, like them better then the stock pineapple grips.

104 tomorrow, I will be in the garage with a fan.

Don't quote me but I think these conversions are plentiful on ebay.

I think it was 103 in Greensboro today Mark. I rode the K6 to work and very nice ride in, but coming home at 5:00 it was just plain HOT!! When I got home I was sweating. I had to fix my throttle grip on the K6 the other day and some extra hold hair spray worked great.
