and finally , my stupid question for the day ... how the hell am i suppose to get that break cable off

.... i mean i'm not retarded ... what the #$%* is the trick i CANT figure it out , and i'm about to just cut it off

Step back and look at it again.  :)

Drop the wheel off of the forks.  Once you have both of the brake arms off, me thinkin' you can create enough slack in the cable to get the cable out.  Somehow that cable has to slide through that slit.

Hopefully I am seeing what you are talking about.

You will have to undo the cable at the handle bar first. Line up the slot in the lever adjustment thumb screws.
Then squeeze the lever - when you release the lever pull the cable out from the slot.
To remove the front brake cable from the backing plate.
First undo the nut between the pivot arm and the threaded tube. Then back off the threaded tube and when it is out you can slide the cable out of that slit in the casting.

couple more little tid bits , to keep the masses interested

was lettin Ryry play with the engraver , and i thought i'd use his little drawing in the bike

(and no , i have no ida what's going on here  ;D )

i decided to keep the swiss cheesed sprocket cover , but had to change it a little

evened out the back section a bit , and drilled a few more holes ... looks much better i think

and while trying to even out this fender (it was dented up pretty bad ) i ended up making it smaller than i wanted (oops)
so i'm gonna go back in and stretch the back out a few inches using left over pieces of fender

Agreed Spikey, the front end is looking cool. I cut my fender a bit short as well, but I think it will be okay.  Have you thought about twisting a handlebar?  Too much?

i did consider it ... but the stock would have to be really thick , and the thicker it gets the harder it is to to twist .... still do-able  just more work than it's worth i think .. then would have to figure out how to mount the them in the holders yada yada      i may do it .. but honestly , i doubt it

a few little updates .. progress has been mind numbingly slow .. and it's all lack of funds at this point .. here are a few little things i've done that didnt cost anything ....

oh, and so far the running tally on this bike is $145   , not bad at all for as far as it currently is .. ok on with the show right  ;D

i had to switch it to drag bars ... just more to my liking than the superbike style

i also remounted the rear fender , bringing it in 2 inches .. i also did away with the bolts and welded it to the frame .

i haven't decided on the color scheme, thats just a base coat of truck bed liner (i dig the texture)  i might just leave it as is and put some little pinstriping in there somewhere for a contrast highlight ... i was also thinking of doing the frame in grey ,  ..... jury's still out on all that so..

got the front fender all done , front wheel is all drilled and polished (i'll do the rest of the polishing whenever i get new spokes , and the wheel is apart)

i even polished the brass in the speedo gear  ;D

i'm gonna move the mount holes on the fender , to drop it down a little
( i wanna wait till i got new tires on there to do that, not sure if it will really matter just bein safe)

next would be to get the exhaust done , or at least mocked ...rebuild the carbs.. then i can start on the electrical #$%*  ...then tear down and paint .. then collect the trophies  ;D ;D

whats up with the color scheme? i was digging the idea of the dark blue faded into white based off the "ridge" you added... maybe if your sticking with black go high gloss to flat... or something
