cb750 sleeves?
« on: March 16, 2014, 06:18:18 PM »
I need replacement sleeves for my 750 (one of my rods detached from the crank and chipped the sleeve, Haven't split the cases yet to assess damage as i just got re employed.) And was wondering if there was a source for stock size replacement sleeves? or If I would be better off cost wise buying a set of jugs, powder coating them (my engine is blacked out) and overboring them (I wouldn't trust just putting stock pistons in unkown sleeves without measuring the bore).

Alright I need advice, would it just be cheaper to get a whole new set of jugs with alright sleeves, bore them, powdercoat them black, or to get new sleeves/get them pressed in do you guys think?

I'm leaning towards the first option right now but I've never got anything powdercoated so im not sure how much it would be.

Bill Benton, Mike Rieck, Big Jay. Check with these guys to see if they have any they've dropped out to do BIG bores.

However, it'll be easier and cheaper to buy new cylinders in at likelihood.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
