F2 rod bolts

Are they a direct replacement into earlier K rods? Never have been a big fan of trying to use the stock rods in built Honda motors, so we have never tried this before.

I remember back in the day when RC put the small block Ford bolts in them.

I wonder if ARP has a small block ford bolt that would work? Hmmm, surely the rod would meed machining.
 I have read about the F bolts being used but haven't done it myself.

As you probably know the "rod" is listed as a complete unit with the bolt and nut but the bolts and nuts are also listed separate. The part numbers for the rod, bolt and nut are -300 until engine number 2604929. From what I've heard the bolts and nuts changed but the rods were the same. I've also heard that Corvair bolts were used as hd replacements. Operative word here is "heard" with no true experience. The F2/F3 bolts ands nuts are still available so that would give a definitive answer.

Let's get a definitive from our motorhead experts.

13213-kvo-000  bigend bolts  can use std nuts
direct replacement fits direct olso for the smaller engines  350-400-500-550-650

actually the are from a vtr 250 olso used in cbr 600 and a lot more

Agreed they are a direct replacement. Nuts are 13214-410-003.

So the F2 bolts are stronger then the K bolts and are a direct swap.  Is there something that is stronger still that also bolts in, or is it not worth it?

I know this is out of left field for the tech heads on this site.
But check out the pic attached.
Yes the conrod bolts are cat8.
I race with these blokes and they have been around for awhile.
I asked them why?
And they said they couldn't get the proper bolts at the time.
I do not lie, this motor actually managed to complete two meetings before it finally sh!t it self.

initially i thought it was hilarious,

but coming to think about it, if you crash your brains out due to oil left by someone else using hardware store "con rod bolts" then thats not funny at all.

would heavily fine them or something, no kidding

I posted this in my thread I think but here's the difference, the spiral groove probably does not help the strength of the K bolt.
