I did some riding with my buddies over the weekend. One on a 48 Indian chief and a 59 Harley duo glide. I always waited until they both got done kick starting before I pushed the button. They both left the bike show early and I won best antique with my 76 supersport 750. I really didn't mind riding slow because I got to see two great old antiques on the road. I caught up with them later, we rode about 60 miles and went 40 more to breakfast sunday AM.
I was surprised how people marvelled over my dinged and imperfect tank. It seems original flawed paint is more desirable than restored now.
I remembered the old saying, by the time your Harley buddies got started you were two blocks down the street. It is still true.
