'77 CB750F, NOVA - TLC Needed
« on: July 01, 2012, 10:58:11 AM »
Hello all!  I'm Michael and I just picked up my first motorcycle since my early 20's/teen years.  It's a '77 CB750F that has been sitting in a guys shed for a year and was obviously ill kept by the PO and PPO.

I'm a bit of a day dreamer so there are certainly some cogs turning in my mind regarding the eventual possibilities for the bike.  For now I want to focus on getting it running properly, building a proper seat for it (the current seat is made from cheap ultra-suede and a chopped up snowboard) and tucking the wiring out of sight.  The carbs obviously need a rebuild, at least I think so, because they stick open after turning the throttle and I have to manually push the linkage to get them to retract.  Might just need the linkage shaft lubricated but I think I'll feel better about going through them with a fine tooth comb.

The frame is hacked up on the rear, the tank mounts are relocated, the wheels don't match, and all sorts of other various little oddities are poking there heads.

It's a fixer-upper for sure but I think I'm game for the challenge.

Few pics:
