« on: July 01, 2012, 02:12:48 PM »
Well sooner or later your bound to cheat... As of yesterday a Yamaha now calls my garage home. She appears to be a bit intimidated with all the hondas eye balling her but im sure they will learn to accept her big twins.

The worst motorcycle I ever owned was a first-year TX750. It was even listed as one of the 10 worst motorcycles ever made by one of the major bike magazines in the '80's. I wasn't surprised. Most of the problems were fixed by the next year, but a lot of those fixes could not be retrofitted to the first-year motors, like the adjustable counter-balancer chain tensioner. Yamaha replaced hundreds, if not thousands, of those early motors under warranty...
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

Nice find.  The problems were mostly fixed in the 74 but the reputation had been badly tarnished by the 73 model year.  Looks to be in decent shape.  Does it have the funky oil filter or the aftermarket mod to fit a Fram filter?  Like to have one myself but have just seen a few 73's locally.  I think it's a good looking bike.

Check out this link if you need anything.  He has the mufflers in nice condition.  I took a look at it today.
