Doubt it electronice usually like a stable voltage PLUS all the fours need a battery to excite the generator and no i dont mean wearing kinky gear Terry

Hello guys! I'm from Hungary(yes, sorry for my bad english :)), I bought a 400f (F2) last year. I'm going to buy an electronic ignition, but I don't know, which is the perfect for this bike. I want to spend maximum 200 Euros for the Ignition and for this money I would like to have a basic, but reliable kit. I've seen, that Newtronic and Dyna also has complete kits, what do you think, which is better, what are the differencies? Any other brands?

It may depend on where you are - both the States and |UK can supply Newtronics and Dyna ignitions (you may have to search for the Dyna S), also consider the Boyer-Bransden ignition, specifically the Micro-Digital setup - I'm running one of these on my '75 400F and it's a peice of cake to fit and tune - highly recommended!

The Newtronics is also pretty easy to get sorted (it used to be known as the Piranha (bought out by Newtronics) but is essentially the same module).

Whichever way you swing it, good luck with the little jewel!

I’m using Dyna because I’m in the UK and we get plenty of rain, the Dyna system all fits behind the chrome plate and can be sealed to keep out water. Other systems have a box of electronics you have to fix on the bike some place and keep dry and that’s not so easy on a bike, if water gets in they will not function and you push the bike home. So if you get plenty of rain in your part of Europe I would consider the Dyna as the best choice IMHO.

Jeff at Z1 Enterprises (Jeff.Saunders) is a member here.  He sells Dyna S for US$120 plus $10 shipping globally!  That's US$130 in total. Beat that anyone...

Go look at z1enterprises.com or take a look at his reviews: www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=7547.0

My son decided to get me a Dyna S ignition for my 550 for my birthday.  I was about to order it from www.z1enterprises.com when I noticed that they are located about an hour from my home.  So we decided to ride over and pick it up today.

I met Jeff Saunders, the owner, and he gave me a tour and chatted for a while.  What a great guy.  Not only are his prices great, but he is really a nice guy who is down to earth, VERY knowledgable and willing to answer questions.

His price was $120 which is a great price.

I would HIGHLY recommend z1enterprises.  Check out their website: http://www.z1enterprises.com/
