Topic: massive problem cb550 cylinder 3&4 wont fire

if anyone has been following my build thread i had the motor running perfectly.

tappet gaps perfect
timing and points gap perfect
carb sync perfect
ran and idle smooth

now then i went on to finish my tank graphics and let the bike sit for a bit. i also worked on my wiring and stuff

now everything back together with my new tank i just did good petcock and now cylinders 3&4 wont fire

coil 1 sparks cylinder 1&3 and coil 2 does 2&4

checked every spark plug individual all of them have equal spark

then i thought maybe it was fuel line in between carb 3&4. gas ran into them fine. it wasent air locked of anything. then i took my air compressor very gently and blew some air into the carb bowl over flow tubes and i watched fuel pour out of the airbox drain tube while more fuel ran into the carbs. so that ruled out a plug between carbs 3&4

so i have spark

i have fuel

i dont get why why why 3&4 arnt running

even if my timing was horribly off or one of my coils are dead 1&3 or 2&4 wouldnt be firing not 3&4 aghhhhh

Well Smoothy, I don't know if you have your cylinders wired incorrectly or you just stated it incorrectly but one coil runs 1&4 and the other runs 2&3. Is that your problem? Other than that, the common item between cylinders 3&4 is fuel supply.

Cross wire and two cylinders will be dead.

u where right sir i had it wired wrong..... i guess when i was routing cables i set the wire back up wrong. sir +1 for you i must have gotten so scared and frustrated i didnt think

thank you now i have to wait for my battery to charge and try kicking it again sob!
