750 F to 750 K8 Header Compatability

Anyone know of any issues fitting an F stock header/collector on a K model.
Also any significant differences in the F model year headers?

I have seen a few K bikes with the F 4 into 1.  Never done it myself but I know the brake pedal needs to be modified or changed or else the muffler hangs too low.  There is a thread or two about it if you do a search.

The reason I ask is I'm considering using a reverse cone (Cycle X type), and thought it may fit better than with my existing MAC 4/1
header.

Here is a photo of the fit on a F1.  The brake pedal is different and I think the footpegs are also in a different spot than a K bike.  Whether the problem area is the collector or the muffler I am not sure but looks like the collector.

I did a search but couldn't find anything specific that helped.

Maybe it's an optical illusion, but your collector appears to be square, (2 upper and 2 lower inlets) instead of 4 inline flat inlets?

The collector is more like an L on it's back,  three across inline and then the one up that makes it look square if viewed from that angle.  Saw this at bike night a while back.  A K bike in F clothes. ;D

The "L" shape isn't that obvious in the parts illustrations, but explains it well.

Appears to be a significant difference in design between the 75/76 and 77/78 years for some reason. The later year models appear to be more of a 4/2/1 affair instead of 4/1, and appears to be more "flat" than "L" shaped.

I remember reading somewhere that the stock F headers were pretty efficient, and thought they may breathe better than the MAC, but I'm unsure which design they were talking about.
