Value?
« on: July 04, 2012, 09:05:47 AM »
Hey People! I haven't been on here in a long time! My time has come (I think) to sell my baby.. '76 750K. Somebody GAVE me a Shadow 1100, which is very comfortable and a better cruiser.. I'd keep "Froggy", but I have a room (and money!) Problem! She's got custom paint with clearcoat, Chrome's ok, and she runs incredibly well. About 26,500 mi. decent tires...'78 seat, I know wrong, but I think it looks good, and somebody put the 4 into 1's on her, but otherwise original.. I've babied her.. she could use just a little more work, and she'd be perfect! Does anybody have an idea of what she might be worth? Located in Lansing, Michigan.

I've no idea what froggy is worth but your right the paint is really nice and works well with the seat. A refresh of the black on the exhaust would really help make green pop and add a few bucks to the value imo.

Whatever you can get for it is the value. Depends on the location and time of year.

In TX, you could easily sell quickly for $2500.

Why don't you ask $2000?

Being non ALL stock and such what ever you can get for it. I suggest placing it in the local CL and ask for a few hundred more than you actually want for barter room. I love the bike, and it should sell real quick. I do have a suggestion, fix any little thing that needs fixin on it BEFORE you try to sell it! TINY things can take hundreds off of a sale price of a vintage bike. I just sold a vintage BMW that everyone though was worth about 3500 for 7 grand because I had it PERFECT and found the right buyer. Of course those who were telling me it was only worth 3500 WANTED to buy it from me for that!!!!! But point is, it was ONLY worth 7 grand since it was PERFECT and needed NOTHING. If it had had two or three little problems or blemishes it would have gone very different, like 2K different!

Put it on craigslist for the $3500 and then drop the price a couple hundred dollars everytime you bump it to the top.
You can always lower the price, but it is very difficult to raise it.
Nothing worse then posting it and having someone buy it right away. You will always kick yourself in the butt for selling it to cheap.
