They are not in high demand in these parts. I have 2, one for free the other cost me $150. The free one has 9800 and is all stock in excellent shape. The owner put a custom front fairing on, got the wiring wrong, rode it to the top of Mt. Hamilton and it died. He had it towed home and there it sat since the mid-80s.
Turns out the problem was tricky -- all of the fuses under the front plastic panel at the center of the handlebars looked fine. But key on -- no power.
So I pulled all the fuses out. They looked fine - except one had a loose metal end cap. Put in a new fuse and put the stock front lights and turn signals back on and aftermarket fairing + wiring off, sold those for $75.
Here is the freebie.
DONT pay too much for a 900c. They can be had cheap.
I think its all those cafe shows on TV. The 'cruiser' style out here is not so popular.
My '81 cb900c is in the same condition but is the stock bronze color. Nothing wrong with it except the starter relay got oxidized, it also has only 10,000 miles, bought a new starter relay on ebay, bike is fine.
FUN CRUISER BIKES!
But DONT over pay, they don't command much, not popular, least not here in California.
Heavy like a tank. Like a tank, that is the dark side of these beasts, if you're of minimal upper-body strength and she falls over, stand by you'll need help.
