Another mystery part for the SOHC detectives ... :o

The early 1974-75 Kawasaki KZ 400 had petcocks with dual horizontal outlets that looked identical to the one in the photos. However, you probably would want to confirm this to be 100% sure.

Hmmmmm  ??? The story is the tank came with a K3 engine.

Do you have a pic of the tank? Was it mounted to the tank??

Ill have to snap a pic of the tank after work, but it was mounted to the tank just like any other normal right side Petcock.

Nope, and I cant see where a hose would attach. From the looks of it its a normal early 70s tank.

Other than the sideways brass nipples, it looks exactly like my K1 petcock. I wonder if both Honda and Kawasaki bought the petcocks from the same maker, like with brake calipers from Tokico?
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

WOW! Theres is no way I would of figured that out. Thanks Tugboat. Never would of thought that they could be interchanged. I was hoping that it was some kind of rare sandcast only 100 made petcock.

Are there any markings on the Kawi petcock? In my second pic, there is PH, then what looks like an A, but is actually 2 curved lines, stamped into the area just below the mounting surface.

Eric!

Speaking of a wiener, I was one of those Oscar Mayer wiener kids, complete with my official wiener whistle back in the late 1950’s ... LOL
