Identify these wheels?
« on: July 04, 2012, 02:05:21 PM »
I got these wheels from a friend, along with a frame. All I know is they are from a '79 Yamaha. If I can put the on my CB I would. If no one knows anything I could take the vin to the BMV and see if they can tell me anything.

No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

guessing xs650 and judging by the leading axle front fork they came from the "Special" cruiser variation...they are very similar looking to the popular Lester wheel...I doubt they just bolt onto a Honda...guessing a 19" front and 16" rear if they are from the Special
If it works good, it looks good...

I think most of the XS Yammys used those wheels. With some spacers and use the complete frontend  they will work on the CB750.

the front is from a xs750 special or 850 judging by the caliper mount, i don't think the 650's had that type of caliper mount. is the rear rim from a shaft driven bike or chain driven? the 750's and 850's were shaft, 650 was chain. i put a 78 xs 650 front forks and wheel on a 74 cb750, just needed a few spacers on the axle.

The DMV is not going to have any info about wheels.
