as far as diving goes, i have seen every team do it, including England, and the USA. But england and the USA dont do it very often deff the least amount of divers in the world cup.

But I do see why they do it, and the simple reason is because its so easy to exploit. Now I understand that its considered low down and cheating, but if some of the players didnt roll around on the ground screaming as if they had just been nutered with out antesia, then the reff might not call a foul. Now like I said I agree that diving and acting do tend to ruin the spot and would love to see it  gone but like I said I do see a point to it.

You should only get a foul if the player is really injured or the tackle is deemed dangerous, diving is for losers.....If they get hurt that easily then maybe they should play in skirts.

Mick

this is why they call most fouls.  most fouls are to prevent the play from getting out of hand and causing injuries.

japan vinns 3-1 against denmark...honda made a goal...im vith japan rest of games...they are just best

There's a bloke called "Honda" playing for Japan and he's their top scorer (how cool is that?)

There was also a guy playing for Denmark called "Soren Larson" (?)
That's the name of a boat that I went out on a few times in the early 90's. It was used in the filming of "The Onedine Line" way back - I think it was called "Charlotte Rhodes" in the film.

The Italians lost, can't believe they are out in the first round, they are now a disgrace to their country!
It was a good game though.

As far as i am concerned they were already a disgrace, they are a bunch of cheats that didn't deserve the last world cup, if there was no diving in football they wouldn't have a game plan......they deserve their loss...

Mick

+1
I support the Italian rugby team whole heartedly 'cos they play with cojones. They get hammered at almost every outing but they fight gamely on until the final whistle.
But the footie team?? Pha, a bunch of pansies. Only play proper football when they're 3-0 down and they start to think of all the tomatoes and rotten fruit they'll be wearing when they land at Rome.

i would love to see Spain or Portugal take it, but I personally think Brazil is going to eat up every single team they play. They have been killing it this world cup, but then again so has Portugal.

Oh also, go USA.

They surely did not "eat up" Portugal, it was rather lame.

Well i suppose they were both through and didn't want any more injuries so thats how the game was played.....nothing to gain..

minus the Ghana game, Germany looks sharp this year too. if they play like they did against Australia i think they'll beat england in regulation time, if they play like they did against Ghana i think it will go to pk's.

Yes I thought Portugal against Brazil, oh boy, then I saw the match, snooze, I know I have naps in the afternoon when I need them but mostly not, it was hard to stay awake for all of that one, yes nice passing but.

I think Mick said it right - Brazil nor Portugal had nothing to gain so they just played super Conservative.
That will all change today...lose and you are out!

Go USA!!

It was a good show USA but it wasnt enough. They came further then many people thought and to win the group they did great.

Stupid Ghana laying on the ground for 5 mins when he wasnt even touched.

Shame it was many of the US players last world cup.

for sure. we kinda did it to ourselves since we couldn't finish.  but a good call occasionally would've helped.  we should've had another pk.
Ghana was pissing me off in OT.  after the scored they stopped playing football and started playing injured.  the guy they had to take off in a stretcher immediately stood up and walked away as soon as he got to the sidelines.  then it took them a whole minute to sub a player because the guy that was supposed to come off pretended to not know what was going on.

Use to watch Bundesliga on PBS and started being a German fan.  I like attacking exciting Futbol.  The USA played like they always do sorta like they wish they were home having a hot dog.  USA has never had a striker that is world class.  Our best striker is a midfielder.  The Germans play with alot of poise.  Whats up with the sorry referrees.  When will FIFA recognize that there are only a few guys up to the test.  But then again fans still talk about players like Maradonna who won a world cup by intentionally cheating and how great he was.  He was and is simply a cheat.
