Hello!
« on: July 05, 2012, 05:56:52 AM »
Hello,

decided to join after getting a CB750k7 last week. I found the bike from Holland and as I had a work trip to the area I decided to see if I could drive it back. I live in Finland.

Seeing the bike it matched the description. Some minor issues I hadn't noticed before, like no indicators, just one mirror, no handle bar lock. All items I need to deal with to get it registered in Finland. The biggest issue was that the bike didn't tick over, but that was an easy fix as it was just because #2 and #3 cylinders didn't have the screws covering the sync ports.

We made the deal and I drove the bike through Holland and Germany to Travemünde and then took a boat to Helsinki (580km / 7h). Now planning some upgrades and fixes.

- bar end mirrors (have them already, but the inserts are too small for the clip-on for a secure fit)
- mini indicators
- better gear linkage for the Tarozzi rear set - looking for better position and shorter travel
- syncronizing the carbs, checking valves, timing chain check

Some bigger things I'd like do are moving the battery under the tail section with other electrics, change to a one clock system to clean the cockpit and tune the carbs for better power. It seems the stock carbs with the filters are more for looks than for performance..

This forum seems to be the perfect place for advice, lot to take in!

Thanks,
Ville

well all of us anal members will have that much in one befire we finish.  There is always something else to buy or repair or adjust and break.  When people ask me what my bikes are worth I say half what I have in them.  I did get an offer on my 77 550F .  first offer 2500 Not interested thank you.
