« on: July 05, 2012, 01:33:16 PM »
Real quick one here. 750k5 the +batt cable attaches to the rear (back tire) of the solenoid and the black wire to the starter attaches to the front of the solenoid (front tire) Is this correct? Thanks

If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

I'm going to need to ask this too sometime. There's a lot of other wires coming off of (i think) the middle post on my starter solenoid? I just hacked all the wiring off my bike when I got it haha. Shouldn't be hard to figure out

One solenoid stud terminal is connected by a large wire directly to battery "+" and the other goes to the starter motor. The battery side is a common place to pick up power for electrical stuff. Some models get the main fuse power from there. It should never be used to connect to anything except a fuse, or to long wires leading around the bike even if they lead to a fuse. I've worked on many bikes with melted and burned wiring from unfused wiring that shorted to ground somewhere.

It does not matter what side they go on just so they are not on the same side. It is just a big heavy open contact. When you put 12v across the little wires (start button) then it closes inside and joins the two big wires together and spins the starter. Bodi is right about the fuse on any aux. little red wire. If you look at the batt. on most cars you will see a little red wire on them for extra add on things it need a fuse there.
