What flatslides are they? With a bit of imagination they could be Lectrons. As I recall they were also 4 separate carbs and operated by a 4-1 cable set.

They are Mikuni TM32mm flats slides.
I did give serious consideration to Lectrons , priced them up and sought advice from the owner.

it wasnt the money I just got a thing in my head about big carbs not working under load ( honda was happy with 31mm at 150mph) and lectron was advocating larger around 34mm ( like lots of other folk) but in my mind I havent ever spoken to someone who has run 150 mph with bigger than 32 and most were 31mm. I acknowlege that in drags for whatever reason the larger diam work OK I just cant see the results for Max speed with the extra load working.

I'll get beat up probably but I have my reasons and experience guiding me , different with bigger cc of course , I am talking 750 cc.

I have a strong suspicion it's all about velocity Johno, loose any of that & you loose the ability to ram the cylinder with the mix while the valve is still open (above atmospheric mean pressure), resulting to a ever so slight "supercharged" effect .
The 250 runs best with a 32, and absolutely HATES anything bigger, and it only has one .

I agree on the velocity ................but at higher altitudes the rules change

I started my motor with 125 jets in the Mikuni carbs at about 750 feet above sea-level. Need to go down to 120s or smaller at Bonneville. You may need to go up.

Hey has anyone heard of the the salt cure for cars and bikes ? I was googlin away looking for a neautraliser for salt and come across this old wives tale

Get bucket, mix in 2 tablespoons of baking soda, 2 table spoons of Dolopril Limestone OR granular gypsum, half a cup of car wash detergant, half gallon water , mix with gloves on and spray under car or bike ? anyone tried this concoction?

Johno, there are piles of anti salt products, look for outboard motor marine products like "salt off"....

Only have to put on the oil filter, fill oil, R /H hand grip and fire the ol girl up, planning to do it on this Friday night beer oclock at work, get all the boys half charged fire it up and big mother of burnout to bed the rings in,

speaking of hand grips whats the best glue , or hairspray , the throttle has some serious spring tension with those flat slides, had to cut them by approx 25 % to evan turn the throttle, so need good #$%* on the hand grip

this seat is designed so that who ever rides this bike has to have a big fat wallet in their back pocket to ease the pain of the alloy seat

re start up tomoz, I try and get some young bloke to upload onto U tube or something ? might be a laugh you never know.

3 suggestions.................in addition to having a plan for a front fender.......if needed:

When on the salt...........Soak a towel in ice-water and cover the tank to keep the fuel cool.........

Cover or shade the seat to keep the riders butt cool..........

Insert a pad in the rider's leathers to keep his inner-thigh from cooking on the oil tank........

Then just go for 155-mph Sunday ride

All good suggestions. I would just add making the white towel over the seat a bit damp as well.

Well today was the day, took the bike to work so one of the young guns can do the u tube thingo, it will be posted as Mellow Yellow CB 750, Hey Bill, modest trailer but the wheels are good
