This was Friday night about 2am

I spent the whole day making up a set of rollers as I couldnt get he bike to fire pushing. was a joke with kicjkstarter.

Anyway the roller were a big help as I was able to tell then the firing order was not right, previous night I contacted the spark people to confirm the colour of wire to the coils as on his instructions he had a colour yellow with description saying black..........It cost me 3 valuable nights working out what was wrong and a day making rollers. After he confirmed I had the wiring correct in frustration I changed it and the old girl fired easy peassy......computer nurds  :o >:( >:( >:(

driving down to the lake in the morning, they have a few blowers that we have to blow the red dust off the underside of the vehicles, to not spoil the lake surface

Set up my pit alongside Stevey Finn the waterbottle man so we could keep an I on each other,
Finny has been watching the build unfold on the forum and aware of what I was doing , it was funny when I pulled up,
wheeled the bike out said nothing , got all set up then he came over and said what did you get on the dyno ?
I repled a stuffed motor where here for the scrutineering only.........he stood silent for awhile and said ...thank Fu#k I have been #$%*ting myself about this race.

good laugh

This is Finny on the waterbottle, he runs 3 classes, MG and MF 750 and the streamlined 750 class, he always has a start on the streamlined class, comes back shaking then rips the fairing off and runs naked classes, he seems more comfortable not getting blown all over the course.

I would love to have this rig on the salt,
When waiting for a run its get very hot all suited up etc so this guy has a double lounge sofa on the back under a big shade cloth roof with a ice bucket tank which pumps to a sprinkler system so he sits back and relaxes while he waits.

Bit of a surprise, My cousin Shane Johno rode his triumph over from Perth in WA, cool hey except he rode the tough way through the desert trail right through the middle of OZ to Alice then down to Lake gairdner, was nice of him to pop over , bet he had a sore bum. ;D ;D ;D

Well Johno and Tiny, I was gutted to hear you guys didn't make it.
I knew Bob had problems with the blown 250 but It wasn't till the early hours of this morning that I heard of your plight.
I'd been keeping up to speed watching a couple of teams on facebook who were managing to get info out from the salt via a satellite phone. Unfortunately, it was only a one way link and questions about you couldn't be asked.
As they left the salt and came into cell phone range, I managed to make contact and they told me what had gone wrong.
The problem with land speed racing is, you only get one shot, here's hoping that you can get it all sorted for 2015. 10 out of 10 for trying.

Sam. ;)

'buggers' as some would say.............It was a valiant effort on your part and now you have more to look forward to ::)

Very nice report on the experience at the lake.  You know we are all waiting to see what the inside of the motor looks like :(  My guess is a bad valve or two..............Maybe one holed-piston :o

You'll be ready for next year with many hours on the motor by then................. ;) ;) ;) ;)

G'day Johno,

I'm sitting down here resplendent in my ty-dyed cheese cloth t-shirt and happy pants at the Port Fairy Fcuking Folk Festival. (The things my missus talks me into, I dunno) ::)

So haven't checked the board for a couple of days.

Bad luck about the bike mate, but never mind she'll be a walk up start for next year. 8)

Cheers,
Brian
