Same bike, the old digger couldnt handle the choice of gear ratios the Honda shaft drive offered so he converted it to chain drive for sprocket choice and then cut the back end off an old 500 jawa speedway bike and put the rigid frame on the Honda, I love that stuff.

This Vincent is from my old home town of Whyalla and is an aquaintance of mine, the last time I seen him was about 7 years ago and he was having trouble with his fuel mixtures at the top end so I went to Whyalla and he hired the dyno at the local TAFE apprentice training centre for the day , I didnt do much except shred 3 brand new tyres on the dyno, he then took it to Bonneville and set two world records

That's an interesting throttle linkage: it's got me to thinking. I've been wanting to make my linkage more progressive, as at low throttle openings a very slight move of the grip has a more abrupt reaction than I care for.

Also on the subject of Webs, have you ever flow tested one while attached to a 750 head? I wonder what the effect of different sized chokes would have on total flow? The optimum size choke would be the smallest one were flow was not increased by going up one size, I would think.

scotty if you move the linkage in the picture to the end of the lever, that will make the initial throttle opening more progressive. However, if will also increase the amount ot 'twist' required at the grip to get to WOT. I used different length levers depending on application - short for race car, longer for street, for the reason you mentioned. Agree re optimum choke size, but figure just asking MikeR how big a Mikuni to use would give you to right answer, and save dyno time.

Mike, do you have flow data for different combinations of carbs/heads/bores? I'll lend you a DCOE with 30, 33, and 36mm chokes for research purposes.

There were lots of ..... lets say more mature men........people there with great T shirts. I asked this bloke when he bought his and he said early 70"s............ I then asked him how he maintained his waist line ?

There were several bike guys who had been to the salt several times using this all over their bikes every day, they buy it in bulk then decanter into the small dispensor and mix with water.

Like I said something for everyone , air cooled that makes it bike like and SOHC boy Peter used to have a Volksy drag bike ! Pete the most vehicles of one brand were Volkswagon , there were lots of them and speaking of rust preventive this rust bucket was the meanest Kombi in town, for the forum guys SOHC boy is a pro paint and panel man who specialises in restoring old Kombi's for a living ..... apart from painting bikes of course.

Pete this RETRO look is all the rage now.... how do they get the rusty look and leave the sign images

do they acid spray or something, looks to even to be natural <
