Thanks guys... im a lot farther than the last picture shows. so far I have repainted the supersport rims using a aluminum paint product i found online... ill post pics when they are completely finished. the Forks shown in the last pic are from a gsr. I scraped this idea after the FREE forks were bent. it was part of the deal for the cb100 sitting there... $100 dollars and its mint except for the seat... Motor should be back from the machinist any day... then the real fun begins.

Some recent improvements :). The paint on the wheels came out great but I wasn't happy with the frame so I'm going to wet sand and re-clear. I'm wondering... all the parts i coated in flat black came out as smooth as can be....should i scuff the frame, re-spray flat, and clear over instead of going through the hassle of wet sanding the whole frame?

Haha!  Just saw that pic in the 'what did you do to your bike today' thread, and I thought to myself...you guys need a ramp!

FYI, those spoked/disc rear hubs are worth good coinage, and are hard to find..

Thanks Greggo, ill keep that in mind. A ramp would have helped....so would looking IN the tank before i bought it. It was 3/4 full and had been sitting for close to 8 years.... needless to say im running through all the tricks to try and save the tank....patience is running thin. On a better not....i got the controls finished on my bike ;D

My 550 had 2/3 of a tank 25 year old gas in it when I bought it (problably 3/4+ whenit was parked). The tank was heavily varnished and I had to replace the very gummed up petcock, but otherwise the tank was in great shape and rist free on the inside.

I used the Works toilet cleaner method on it and it did a nice job of cleaning out the tank for only a couple bucks.

So i was just getting ready to reassemble my case when i noticed that I couldn't find the Main drive bearing oil supply. small box that bolts near the final drive bearing in the case. My question is, is it absolutely necessary.

Did you fit the rear master cylinder and the brake pedal yet?  I have something very similar in my shop now:

Gas tank cleaning . I also have a tank with 8 years of varnish in it. I've done the Works a couple of times on different tanks, the flash rust sucks , this time I 'm going to empty the gooey tank and run some paint thinner / turpentine mix  to clean the stuff out of it. I don't see any rust in it so why introduce  acid and get rust when all you want to do is clean the tank? I'll let you know how it works.

;D70CB750 Yes everything is fitted on the rear master. I used a late 80s GSR master cylinder. I welded a medium gauge bracket onto the frame. I used the brake shaft off of the 78. I then cut the actuation arm off the original brake shaft and welded it directly to the brake pedal. In all it took more time to engineer than to actually put together. Ill get some pics up tonight...... The tank off the other bike sounds like a pop can and after running it through the cement mixer tank tumbler i built..... it has more holes in it than i care to fix...... :(

Does anyone have a 77-78 super sport front wheel they're looking to part with?

I found rear master from  2003 Honda CBR954r and after studying new bikes in Coleman's Power Sports, I am going to fab an actuator for K brake pedal and weld it together.  Should not be hard to do.

Also planning to use the K brake spindle with the K return spring.
