cb750 front end
« on: June 20, 2006, 12:51:15 PM »
hello. i've recently gotten into vintage racing and i'm in the process of building a cr750-type bike. i did some searching here about using gsxr and cbr forks and found what i was looking for immediately, but i think i want to keep using spoke wheels - not to mention i think you have to keep them in certain race classes. i also noticed somebody using a late 70's goldwing front end. what is a good option for using the spoke rims for a bike that will be raced periodically?

I was going to do a modern sportbike front-end on my scoot, but I couldnt get past the nasty mag style wheel.
Their are a few companies that will make a custom one off spoke wheel to work with newer crothrocket front-end, but you are
gonna pay big $$$ for that wheel.

You could do a complete Goldwing front-end on your bike, which would give you dual discs and a spoke wheel, or just add another caliper to what you have allready, like I did....

well, i'm also looking for better performance as far as the forks go. the guy at m3 said he was using 37mm honda forks on his cb750 that were rebuilt with performance springs from racetech. i can't seem to find any more info on that though. racetech doesn't seem to have anything that is even close.

the 75 and 76 gw used spoked wheels and they are the same as the 750.
