Hi guys,

My name's Tom and I just got approved for membership. I'm looking at buying my first 4 :-)

I've had a couple of old Holdens (Chev for the Americans here) including a top end rebuild I did on a 1974 HQ Ute (El Camino), was my baby but had to go when I moved O/S for a bit. have lost touch with my tinkering with toys hobby over the last few years as life, mortgage, work, girlfriend etc all stacked up but I'm jumping back on the horse so to speak.

Think I'll end up with a k2-4 (ish) CB750 4 from Central Motorcycles (anyone know it?) which will get me going for a while, I'm a cafe fan, big time, though I'm not settled on how I'll go about doing anything yet, whether I mod an expensive (fully functional) bike from the link I posted or whether I end up trying to find something cheap and do a restoration/mod. Who knows, I certainly know where to come for info though, having found this site!

If anyone is selling a bike, please feel free to get in touch, even if you know where I should be looking, all help is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

The Maverick

Welcome Maverick, if you plan on "modding" a CB start with something in a little worse shape than a good complete bike, you will throw money at it for nothing otherwise, good complete CB's here are worth more stock than cafe'd, so you would be going backwards mate....
Have a chat with member Terry in Australia, he's in Victoria and could possibly point you in the right direction, he may even have a bike you could cafe. Your links won't show up till after your 5th post, so post away.... ;D ;)

Hi Retro Rocket,

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Seemed a shame to "pull down" a complete and 'nice' CB750..

Will get in touch with Terry, thanks for the introduction, much appreciated. I was wondering why my link to central motorcycles wasn't allowed. Whereaouts are you? Another Australian member? There seems to be few of us but great to see there are some!

Very exciting stuff,

speak soon,
