Not exactly sure on the techical name of the color, but its sort of a brown/maroon.  :-\
When riding it, its a lot less powerful, but very forgiving.   ;D
When I stop, then take off, I am sometimes in 2nd gear, but the bike doesn't care, it just says "Well, I'll go, but I aint gonna go real quick."  Then it chugs away.    :-[

I have the same bike, and your annalogy of it is spot on. Not powerful, but very easy to ride. A great commuter for sure!
