Hey 350F guys, need a couple of pics of cable routing.
« on: July 11, 2012, 05:43:22 AM »
If anyone could post a couple of detailed pics of 350 four cables routed correctly, it would help me out.

1. The PO had the throttle cables zip tied to the frame and they were binding. I got rid of the zip tie and the cables work as they should now, but I don't know where to look for a detailed pic of the routing and if it is tied to the frame anywhere.

2. Also what is the correct routing for the 2 smaller hoses coming from the carbs.

thanks.

dont have a pic, but on my 350F the throttle cables ran in the space between the gauges and the headlight, down between the upper and lower trees(between the forks), and along the left side of the frame to where they connect w the carbs. they should not be zip tied anywhere and able to move/flex freely ;)
the carbs should have 4 bowl overflow tubes exiting down to the space between the swingarm and lower case.
one fuel supply tube to petcock
any others are vent/overflows and should route towards the rear of the bike, over the airbox, and directly down to the space between the swingarm and lower case.

My stock 1974 CB350F doesn't have high enough bars to route the throttle cables quite as flybox1 describes.  They don't really go between the gauges but rather are routed below the gauges, passing in front of the brake line and crossing over to the left side of the main frame tube.  It goes around the front of the steering stem of the frame to run alongside the frame under the tank on the left side.  The cables are positioned between the main wiring cable and the front mount for the tank on the left side (i.e. above the harness and below the left tank mount).  It then drops down under the tank and crosses under the main frame rail to attach to the carb rack pivot.

As Flybox1 describes, there are no ties or attachments to the cables, they are free to move and flex as needed with the bars moving.
