Oh, that was a thing you could buy back in the day to help keep you from smashing the lens when you moved the bike around in the garage...

I'll bet it was for a police version, whatever it is it is RARE and someone should buy it to stick on the wall and run 12vdc to it and use it as a light in the house.

How the lenses get broken is when a rider swings his leg up over the back of the bike to get on, that it gets broken.

Usually it would just break a turn signal lens or light but when the turn signals got removed then the taillight would get broken.

Also when backing up the bike too.

Very nice item for any owner to have.
