first off Im not the greatest with electrical but I will be having a buddy who is helping me. I am about to start buildling a wiring harness for my 750k2. I have 3 harnesses (unknown years), 2 fully wrapped and 1 that is stripped to individual wires and plugs. I would like to build a harness that is fairly stripped down. I want no starter safety motor thing, and no turn signal, but would like dummy lights an auxiliary power line, and a complete kill switch for lights. My question is where is the best place to start. So far I have all the components (regulator, point, rectifier etc) on the bike, connectors cleaned. I've been looking at http://oldmanhonda.com/MC/wiring750K1.html and http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/ebe/35d/ebe35d7e-4315-4baa-adcf-c76d8fa79b80

So where/what component/section string is the easiest to start at and go to?
Should I use electrical grease on connectors?
I found out I have 3 ohm coils which from what I read arent the greatest b.c they will burn out points or something. Can I compensate with Hondamans resistor pack or I read something about dynas running with 3ohms?
this may be a stupid question, but some of my parts (tail light, righthand controls) are aftermarket to test things and figure out which wire is what can I hook them straight up to the battery or without a load spread out will this blow bulbs or something. As I said not the most electrically knowledgeable.

Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Also on the wiring diagrams like this, http://schematicwiring.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Honda-CB750K2-wiring-diagram.jpg what are the T offs/dots on the lines? and the pink H's/thick black bars on the oldhondaman's website/the pic here?

You calling me fat?   :P

Your link is fubar.
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

I don't see any pink stuff. The thick blacks are connectors. Dots on the lines?  Do you mean like the green/yellow from the tail light? This is a green wire with a yellow tracer.

Same answer mate.  :) Dots on the lines indicate wire colours, pink connectors.

so the pink H's and colored dots are both connectors?

I think we are confused.
If you look at the tail light it has a green wire with yellow dots. This indicates a green wire with a yellow tracer.
Or if you mean the circles where the wire heads off to another component, these are hard connections.

if you look on here http://oldmanhonda.com/MC/wiring750K1.html the pink H's are connectors I've got that. But what are the dots on the lines (blk, grn, solid red)
