Wow. A loose wire.

For anyone in the future having this problem...
Bike was running badly yesterday, tonight I took it for a ride and it barely got back home. It would lose power (like running out of gas) but the power would surge once in a while.
I got home, came here and did some reading and determined the petcock might be a problem.
The washer in the petcock was blocking the holes so I took it out and replaced it with a rubber o ring (probably a no-no).
I got ready to try it out and when it started, it was still bad. I immediately shut it down, touched the pipes, 2 and 3 were cold.
Poking around the coil, a little yellow wire came loose in my hand!  Ah-ha!
Went for a rip and the bike is running (almost) perfect again.  ;D I love that thing- it's sooo easy to fix stuff and fun to work on too.
