Parts N More coils wont fit!
« on: June 22, 2006, 06:32:54 PM »
I just came in from trying to install my new coils that I purchased at Parts N More.  They don't look anything like my orginal ones? I have included a pic comparing the two. Help!

You probably are not going to find coils the same size. Technology has gotten better and coils are smaller. I have a little rebel or rather the little lady does, and the coils on that thing are about 1/4 the size of mine.  I dont even know if honda has the coils any more. You should justtry to put them on and see how it goes. You have to let us know though! I have been thinking about getting some cb900 coils from them.

vhenle,

Honda does carry the original coils, I just bought some, but you'll need a second job to pay for them. But I think you can get those on, with some thought and persistance.

I have an extra set of CB750K4 coils.

The PartsNMore swingarm bushings are a joke: their I.D. size is LARGER than Honda's spec for a worn out bearing!  >:(
And, don't bother trying to return it to them: their e-mail addresses don't work, any of them.

I'm gonna have to call Visa just to get my $30 back. Grr...

I tried mounting them to the orginal brackets, but if you look at the new coils the mounting holes are going the wrong way. I guess I will get the dyna coils, I installed the Dyna s ign. today and the bike is idiling like a dream!

Well I dont know aboutthe bushings but I have gotten their accel pumps and signal lights and other things. Everything has worked very well. They only thing I have a bit of a gripe with are the float valves. I have to turn my gas off now, before I did not have to. What can you expect for only $2 each though. They work fine otherwise. But then that is the chance you take ordering off the internet.

Fish, I got them from Z1.  They where out of stock when I ordered and he e-mailed me to let me know.  He then called me the next day and told me they where in, and he even shipped them next day Sat. delivery. Everything I have purchased from Parts N More in the past has worked fine, just not these coils. I spent about 2 hours taking the old ones apart and trying to fit the new ones, no mas!
