Advise on Rearsets
« on: July 04, 2012, 10:26:28 AM »
I'm looking for rearsets for my 74 CB550K.  Some members have recommended the rearsets from Fast from the Past, and there others have mentioned the Raask rearsets.  I need something that can be bolted on since I don't have the equipment or skills to fab my own.  I've tried the search function but I don't get any results.  Maybe it's some new fangled search function but I would think if I typed in Rearsets and hit search something should come up! ;D Any additional suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

Cant answer your question about the rear set but try the search on the left side right under the home button..

yep, forum search function has been broken for a while...Raask and Tarozzi(what fftp sells) are about it as far as bolt on for our bikes...Tarozzi are probably worh the extra $50 or whatever, Raask sets I've seen are kinda shoddy
If it works good, it looks good...

Thanks for the replies. I searched as suggested and the thread I had been looking for popped up. If I had the equipment and skills that FunJimmy has I would build my own, but I have neither I'll still to bolt ons!

Thanks again.

The build quality on the Tarozzi rearsets is better than the Raask ones.

Racer,  I would have to agree with you.  Based on the pictures I've seen I think the Tarozzi are a better quality rearset.

Cwchan, thanks for the link.  The 400F rearsets are an option, and the more options the better.

I'd definitely go with the Tarozzi rearsets from FastFromThePast. Well worth the money, and the customer service is SUPERB. And yes, the kickstart is unuseable because the brake lever is in the way. That's remedied by bending the lever, swapping out a different model's (forgot which one), or bringing a spanner with you to undo the bolt.

I'm sure you know, but the ones advertised for 71-76 CB500 will fit on the 74-76 CB550.

what is it that makes these rearsets not fit on a '77 cb550? looking at options and they all stop at '76
