So I contacted the seller of the ad. Weird in two ways. Me in regard to calling in ask about the bike. The other was how he responded. On the phone he kept saying how its a 69' tank is mint, no seat. all there..... Then when I would ask questions he would say he was downtown and can barely hear me. OK no biggie. FInally he can hear me when I asked for pictures of the bike upclose and of the engine cases to determine damage, gauges, inside of tank, back side of the side covers. He says no problem and would call me in an hour when he gets off work. He asked if this was the number to reach me and I said yes...
Later in the day I get pics sent to me on my phone from him. I ask him for the pics of the vins, cases, tank and side cover and gauges again. Then he starts going off saying how he spent 20 bucks on gas to drive to the bike to take the pics. WHich were at a distance of the bike, not what I asked for. Simply 2 side shots next to a tree which it looks as if he found the bike in the woods.
He then says he already left the bike and can not take pics and how he spent 20 bucks on gas,,,.... I tell him I am willing to pay him through paypal, he says no.... I offer a check, he says no checking account. He then tells me to mail him a money order made out to no body, leave blank. Once he gets the money order, that is when he will send the parts in the mail.....
I think could be a risky move but most likely a scam....
This is his text I get from him "Make me a reasonable offer one time only"
I am like wtf......I say sure, 80 bucks... 20 for the gas........ Which I already know is a #$%*ty offer but oh well. This guy isn't for real I am thinking.
He responds "Not Hardly thanks later"
I said K I am sorry for wasting your time. If I could see inside of tank alone I could make a better offer.
He then goes off saying how honest he is BLAH BL:AH BLAH ... Now I have a CL weirdo with my number!
