Fraud on spareparts from internet.
« on: July 04, 2012, 10:18:49 AM »
I was contacted by a bloke from Spain who said that he was selling his CB -750 in parts. The tone in his email was very friendly. When I asked for details to confirm his identity stopped the correspondence immediately. I think that he/she was trying to fool me. Is fraud common in the spare-part marken on internet?

The is always some lower life form out there who will try anything to take your money by fraudulent means. EBay may have its faults, but it does offer some protection.
At all times buyer beware. If an offer seems too good to be true it inevitably is, so walk away.

He contacted you by e-mail? How did this come about?
'Then' and 'than' are completely different words and have completely different meanings. Same with 'of' and 'have'. Set and sit. There, their and they're. Draw and drawer. Could care less/couldn't care less. Bought/brought FFS.

FWIW, it wasn't me....  ;D

Actually I have a big problem with parts. I have bought parts needed and unneeded, and when the time to clear up space comes, I face a big problem: CB750's are so scarce here, that finding a buyer is almost impossible. An the cost of shipping to US, England, Germany or Australia is so big that I can't really compete. Plus it gets lots of suspicions, why buying from an spaniard when I can buy from a countryman?

Long story short, when I buy a part, I know I will stick to it for ever....

Nah, some guys in a white van selling audio speakers for super cheap. They way they described it I was saving a whole buncha money but the offer only was good right then and there. They spoke those words to me as I drove off with my super speaker bargain.
