My usual method is just buy it a couple of drinks then invite it back to my place to look at my bike lift... ;D

(But I'll remember the method she uses next time my bike falls over on a nice soft, sticky, rubber mat!) ::)

Here is how I did it. My daughter took these pictures laughing the whole time. I had put the bike on the kickstand.....on the grass...so I got what I deserved.

very important to grab the frame and handle and not the seat/fuel tank to lift.  done that, it didn't work so well.  :(

I prefer to give her a few shots of corn ethanol to loosen her up before I start plying my "smooth moves".

Don't give her the white lightnin' until the bike is off the ground :)

It's important to note from the original post that you should drop your bike on it's right side so the kickstand is facing up.  Be careful to drop your bike correctly ;)

How does your typical Harley rider squat down that low, they usually look so inflexible? I base this on the observation that they usually seem unable to move a hand away from the handlebars far enough to wave back.

When I dropped my bike I went into a " I'll lose an arm before this bike touches the ground" type hold. 500lbs vs. 140. I soften the blow enough to prevent damage, and got it up before anyone noticed. I hope.

There is a POV video out there where the guy was riding one of those big ol Victory bikes on a twisty mountain road; he drops it then sits on the guardrail until a car comes.

The reason Harley riders don't wave back is if they lift their hand off the bar:
1: They don't look as cool if they wave.
2: With all the fringe hanging off of their arm the wind drag is immense and they wouldn't be able get their arm back to the handlebar.
3: If they could get their hand back to their handlebar, they would never be able to grab it again because of how much it vibrates.

FWIW, I ride a Harley (a lot of members do).  I greet all other riders as long as I'm not in the middle of a turn or changing lanes.  I see the attitude mainly with the "fashion statement-wanabees" and most of that in the metro areas.  When I'm on my Honda (rural riding), everyone waves.

I find the simple solution to the wave problem,is to never wave first.
I think the whole wave thing is stupid. If your a good rider you should keep your mits on the grips.
A better question would be...when did this wave thing start and what are they riding?
