REALLY! WTF!
« on: July 16, 2012, 06:24:35 PM »
So I call Honda of Santa Monica this AM. ask them if they have slow jets #60 in stock for my CB550k.
"yes we do"
"can you double check im driving from Glendale and just want to make sure"
"yep you all set"
I drive out with carbs in hand. didnt open the bowls when I was there they didnt want to provide me with a screwdriver.
They reassured me these are what I needed.
drive home start tearing down ooops they are pressure fit with the 550k and they gave me screw ins.
call them
"Blah Blah wrong jets"
"Oh we cant take those back"
"Really? I didnt eve touch them and your guy pulled the part"
"sorry no returns on that part"
"ARE YOU EFFIN KIDDING ME"
in short... EFF HONDA OF SANTA MONICA!!!
I will be on thr doorstep when they open tomorrow.

HAHA Nice ^^^^ think ill stick with mom and pops from now on. Went to a mom and pop for some 110 main jets the guy goes in the back and comes out with a plastic tray full of mixed #jets. looks at me and says dig them and they are yours. after about 45 min I had all four in hand ask the dood "how much?" he says you did all the work there yours. Thanks!

Went to a Yamaha dealer once on my Yamaha Venture Royale and they asked what kind of bike it was.
I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

Pilot jets for the Cb550K are #38, unless for 78 Cb550K, then #42.

Mains are either #90, or #100, Depending on what model and year of the cb550K.

If all you gave them was "Cb550K", then it doesn't surprise me they weren't very cooperative or helpful.

yeah, I gave them the same numbers #42 for the 550k and gave him the size up # I wanted. The guy I finally talked today (mgr) said if I ever need anything else for this bike to talk with him. he knew the problem as soon as I pulled the bag of jets out of my pocket while I had the carbs in hand. He actually dissed the other guys that work the parts dept.

no sir pilots "main" was trying  110.... "slow" jets  i was going to try #60. but for the K there is no push type available. its all trial and error from this point for my set up. someone correct me if im wrong on availability on these. but from further reading I dont think ill need them.
