I use a Vetter on my 750 in the winter....they are the best protection wise and airflow wise IMO, but a little on the noisy side.

Well, TT mentioned oxidation, and sure nuff, there was some on the connectors.........but this was a surprise:
Wire brushing and WD 40 took care of it, but...
wonder why it picked that spot, none elsewhere?

First off, you got an absolute steal on that bike.  I will take that all day everyday.

Second:  As far as the old battery, your use for it is this:  You can go to walmart and buy that same battery, but they will charge you $15 more if you don't bring back an old one.  Keep it, bring it with you when you get the new one.

Third:  I can help you with the spare bowl, cheap.  You can call me if you want as my number is in my thread, or just PM me.  If you don't mind one with the drain tube (coming OUT the bowl) with a little bend in it I'll hook you up for free as long as you pay for shipping.

The bent one I found leaked after testing so there must be damage to the drain tube but I found a good pd46c one.  I pmed you about which one you needed but I saw that you had listed that (left side or #1 or #2).  I'll PM you again later tonight.

From the looks of this, I should also be looking for some replacements for the corroded bowl drain screws! (the screws are "closed" in the pic).

If you keep a supply of them I would gladly to buy a set if you have enough to spare.

Oooh I would but I don't think I have as many of those.  I do however know that "sirius consolidated inc" (you can google it) sells them.  They are not cheap though.  They have become sort of a specialty part.  It is a little hard to navigate the site as there are pages and pages that aren't really sorted out but they are there.  If you PM SOHCdigger he can probably help you out.

Got the bowl today!!...You are a gentleman and a scholar...not to mention doing fantastic carb work...it looks like brand new.
