Topic: throttle cable routing

Hi Guys,
I'm restoring a CB750 K6 & I'm about to install new 'A' & 'B' cables. I know how the cables are routed thru the frame near the coils. I'm not exactly sure of the routing past the steering head & headlight bucket. If anyone has any pictures of the routing inthis area they can share, i'd very much appreciate it. Regards Disco.

Do not run the throttle cables between the fork leg and headlight bucket.
 When the forks get turned the cables will be impacted adversely.

Just run the cables on the right side of the frame up to the handle bars. When you put the gas tank on, the cables will fall between the tank and frame.
That way when the front forks are turned left or right the cables will not be pulled on.

What you want to have is no matter which way the front forks are turned or how far they are turned, it does not effect the throttle cable at all.

Thanks for that info, but I know my cables came from the factory routed between the steering head & the headlight bucket. I checked a friend's CB750 K2 yesterday & it's the same. I understand what your saying, but I want to retain the factory appearance. 

So today removed the old cables & get the new ones out of the factory wrapper only to find they are different lengths I guess my lesson out of this is to always ask the seller for the Honda part number they will be supplying! Don't rely on the seller knowledge (or lack of?) to supply the right part for your bike. I've got factory standard handle bars & what I was supplied was p/n 17910-341-611 & 17920-341-611.  The '611' cables are about 2 inches too short. I think I should have been supplied 17910-341-000 & 17920-341-000.

disco you are correct that is the way mine are and I have never had a hang up ever. I don't know what yellow thing.
