CB750F (75/76) brake pedal configuration/adjustment
« on: July 22, 2012, 01:40:03 PM »
Hoping someone can help me with two quick 75/76 750F questions:
1) In the picture, you can see that the brake light switch (at top of spring) is facing straight down instead of toward the end of the lever arm that it connects to.  I assume this is because it's probably a K model spring mount.  Any issues with just cutting off the little bend that holds it at this angle, so I can reposition it pointed toward the lever?
2) That little brake pedal lever (connected to bottom end of spring in the picture) makes contact with the frame when the brake pedal is in the up position.  Is this normal? As you can see the pedal is pretty well aligned (using the dots) around the shaft.

This bike was originally all K model except for the F frame.  I bought it as a basket case.  I have since acquired the parts to have a rear disc, but I'm trying to iron out some final bugs.

The rear MC is all filled and bled and the brake seems to work, but it's weird that the level makes contact with the frame.  Just want to understand if this is correct.

Thanks!
Aaron

Edit, one more question:

3) Is there any reason why I couldn't install a banjo bolt with built-in brake light switch for the rear brake?  I've done it for the front brake and it works great and simplifies brake line.  That little spring setup on the rear switch is pretty ugly!
