Topic: Brake Upgrade

My front main caliper may be out of commission. I snapped the bleeder valve right flush with the unit and getting ready to drill and rethread the hole. If this fails any ideas for a possible brake upgrade where I can use the OEM parts and not pay out the ass?

I don't know of any calipers that will swap over to our fork legs.  I've done a lot of research and always came up empty.  Maybe someone else will chime in.

I'm close to doing a 750F fork swap - that will accept later dual piston calipers - on both sides.  It's a bit bigger/more involved than a simple caliper swap.

What I do with snapped bleeders is weld a nut to it and they come right out.  Not an easy job with on bikes because of the size, but it works.  The heat generated helps.

If you can't do it yourself, you can find a welding shop near you that should be able to.

Thanks guys... the only way I think to upgrade is to fab your own stuff. If anyone has another caliper that they don't want I'll pay for it. Thanks

The biggest bang-for-the-buck brake upgrade is to add a second stock caliper and disc. There are a few niggling details, but a dual-disc conversion is worth the effort, IMHO.

IIRC: The front wheel hub is different on the dual disc, but I think everything else is a bolt on.
