Hey from Vancouver.  I wanted a bike that was running reliably enough that I could learn to ride, but not so reliably that I didn't have to learn to fix it as well.  I think I got what I asked for.  My ratio of fixing:riding is probably 4:1 after this weekend.

I've already made great use of the forum, so thanks to everyone who's contributed thus far.  I'll be putting up a new thread on regulator/rectifier issues shortly, so you can find me there.

Actually, one initial general question: I can't get much out of the 'search' function on the forums, and usually just revert to searching from Google.com.  Any idea why?  For example, I tried searching for 'regulator' and got nothing.
