Wet sumping a SOHC CB750

If a deeper oil pan were made, and a pickup fashioned, could the SOHC 750 be converted to a wet sump engine for for radical aesthetic redesign purposes.

Yes.
Imagine the stock oil tank placed below the engine.
Now just make it the shape you want.
It would still need a vent above the top of the engine.
And the filler neck would need to be taller.

Matter of fact just place the tank under the engine with the filler neck
Going up the side and and two short oil hoses hooked from the tank to the normal place on the engine where it picks up oil and returns oil.

That is one way to do it.

tanks a lot Lucky! I agree that is one way to do it, but  I think that's may be a touch overly simplistic. I'm talking about fabbing up a bolt-in oil pan that replaces the shallow original, and has a screened pickup plumbed from the oil pump inlet. In other words, no seperate tank, no lines.

I have included below a link to the CB750 oil system, a diagram of the oil pump and a pic of the oil pump. The inlet and outlet to the oil tank are fed directly to/from the oil pump where it attaches to the engine via internal passageways to the exterior ports on the side of the engine where the oil lines attach.  It may be difficult to circumvent the oil lines without some serious modifications.

That could be done also but it is a little more complex.

I understand that this is not good for performance, just for more options in building a custom.
