First of all, let me say that if this is not an appropriate link submission, please let me know where I can submit it to, or if this kind of thing isn't allowed at all. I don't mean to break any rules.

With that out of the way, let me introduce you to Sandits at Sandits.com

I have been casually involved in the creation of these for a couple years now. The original idea/concept was created by my Father. He has an old radio he keeps outside, and one day it stopped working. My Dad, being rather handy, saw that the battery connections were all corroded. He wanted to clean them, and found himself trying to wrap sandpaper on a screwdriver to get into the tight area, and it was a pain in the ass, and didn't work that well. Out of that, he came up a q-tip shaped sanding stick, a Sandit.

The website is a bit rough, and still under development, but the products are real and ready to be shipped out. We are in the process of getting them into home depot, lowes, ace, etc, but I wanted some input from fellow SOHC4'ers.

We think it's a great product (obviously, duh, we created it) and it would be super useful for cleaning rust, getting in all the nooks on the body of bikes, not to mention cleaning those damn electrical contacts!

Again, sorry if this isn't allowed in the forum here, but as you can see by my history, I am not just some sales rep, just a genuine SOHC4 guy who has an interesting project like the rest of you!

Edit: Store is now OPEN. Website fixed up quite a bit as well. Thanks everyone!

That's a pretty slick little idea and tool. I have had times when something like this would of been real handy. Especially when cleaning carbs. Best of luck to you! Just don't forget about us over here when you move to Beverly Hills in that mansion.

Nice, I like it. Die makers - like for aluminum would love this, there are plenty tight spots to be polished on dies for aluminum casting.

I used wood matches for similar purpose.

Is it all the same grit?

Ayrity - i do IT work for a pretty large hardware distributor.  we mainly cater to independently owned hardware stores.  if you would like, i can get the contact info from one of the guys in our purchasing department.  The typical scenario is that you would send some product samples through, and they decide whether this is something they want to add to our product line.

PM me if you're interested and i'll talk to the guys in purchasing.

I am a hobbyist mechanic (meaning I like to learn to fix my own stuff) and have quite a few tools, I would definitely add this to the collection. There have already been several situations where it would have come in handy, and while the dremel tools have things that will do a similar job, I'm not always wanting to get it out, put in the bit, etc. and yours are likely more economical than any dremel sanding tips too. Keep it updated!

Since I am just stock full of ideas (well full of something!) but no motivation to actually invent them. How about a steel and /or brass wool swab similar to what you have but with one end you can chuck in a cordless drill? That's something I would find super useful. You can get to those hard to reach places on carbs, between fins, etc.

Patent? Yes! as for the other ideas, I love em! I havnt tried this yet, but I thought maybe if I cut one in half, it would hold up well in a drill chuck?
