motorcycle flea market report.
« on: July 21, 2012, 04:11:56 PM »
My wife and I signed up for a motorcycle flea market at a BMW dealership in northern california. It was advertised on Craigslist.
It was located in Windsor, Cacifornia.

It started at 10am.

We arrived about 1 hour prior to the opening to set up .
The management set up some tables. About 4 or 5.
The table cost $20.

My wife and I was one of only 3 sellers!
One of the tables was being run by the owners of the dealership and was selling jackets and some parts.

My wife and I left at noon.

There was no signs on the street telling about the sale at all.
It was in a industrial frontage road near US 101 freeway.

There were some buyers. I estimate about 30 .
There was no food or drink vendors.

I just wonder why there was so little interest.

I bought a 21 inch chrome steel rim 2.15 width in very good condition
for $5.00 from the only other seller!

not dead just been up since 4 am. interesting that they did not advertise more aggressively? stopped at the local BMW/ triumph dealership last week to look around. turns out they where having some sort of a BMW shindig ( sorry excuse the hillbillyish) made all the non-bmw bikes park in the back..i was insulted! but the owner did come out to drool over my bike. said he always liked old Honda's..not insulted anymore. even though the BMW is one heck of a machine. not my taste though. nor budget.

What's there to comment on?  You went to a crappy flea market and got a crappy result.  Sounds like an open and closed case to me.

I was hoping you would say "That sounded crappy!"  Lol.lol

I was wondering if any one has noticed a lack of interest in flea markets in general since we have all of the online flea markets, like maybe it is a generational thing.

BTW thanks for moving my post to the correct forum section.

i have a pretty good flea market here. very busy on the weekends. once you weed through the dealers that are there every week to the plain folks trying to clean house. you can get some good deals on household stuff, kids clothes, and tools. and local farmers selling seasonal fresh veggies.
