Con Rod Markings-Bearing Replacement Question
« on: July 23, 2012, 07:32:48 PM »
Been working my way through the other related posts on bearing replacement, but I still can't find any info on where I should see the numbers for the con-rod bearing sizes. The manual says it should be on the big end, but another post said that these raised "mould" numbers mean nothing for the bearing selection.

Here are some pictures to help. The numbers on the big end are 1 (or is that an I) 4, then C. On the arm, they are S 16 D, but I don't know if that one is an I or not, as well.

Thank you guys. I've  come here whenever I've run into a problem rebuilding and have always had luck solving it.

The numbers you are looking at mean nothing the codes you want are etched on the ground sides where the bolts go through

So it would be the lower number pictured here (a 4)? The manual that I got says that those are part of the tolerance identification marks.

You should have weight and clearance ID's.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
