Topic: k7 cb750 tire replacement question

I have a k7 that i have swapped some 78f comstars onto, along with the swingarm and forks from the 78f.

anyways I have spent some time searching for a good replacement tire as I noticed a GIANT nail through my tire.

I had just gotten the wheels balanced and fitted with new tubes after i got them powdercoated which makes me a bit upset the new rear tube has <50miles on it.

The tire is overdue for a change and just looking to see what size and make/model of tire people like to put on.

I have a Dunlop K627 on the rear of my 1977 750k that I have been very happy with.  I have the 130 width and it fits the swingarm with no problem.

If you really want a new tire you should buy a new rear to match the front if its still good, or replace both at once to maintain good/consistent handling.

I had Michelin Pilot Activ's on my bike for a long time, handled well but kind of wandered around in corners.

I now have Bridgestone Battlax BT45's and I love them. The rear has a harder compound in the center and softer rubber on the sides to resist flat spotting for those who go long distances (Me)

I've also heard nothing but good things about Avon Roadriders.

Really glad you brought up the Pilot activ's. very seriously considered them. Motorcycle-superstore has them for <200 for the pair which i thought might be a good value. But the battlax bt45's come up in almost every search i do so  I might look more into them.

Nothing inherently wrong with the Activs. The front lasted 12,000 miles, but the rear squared off pretty quickly.

( I live near LA and my job/girlfriend are 30 min each way.... lootttss of freeway riding)

Which is why I like the dual compound in the BT45's

my K8 had ~1 year old shinkos (130 rear) on it.  not bad. 
as soon as i get the cash, im going back to Avon Roadriders.

what size were you running?

120/90/18 rear and 100/90/19 front. Both V rated.
