1976 CB750 seat swap
« on: July 25, 2012, 12:29:58 PM »
I picked up a 1976 CB750 (K6, I believe) over the weekend and am trying to sort a couple of things out.  The current seat is from a '78 and is too big and has rubbed some paint off of the tank.  There is a 1973 CB750 seat listed locally that I'd like to pick up, but I'm not certain if it will work on the '76.   My attempts to search the previous posts didn't yield the concrete answer I was hoping to find.

Anyone know if the '73 seat will fit on a '76?  Is there a rule of thumb that I should know that would tell me that anything from these years is interchangeable?

Should fit. All the K seats are the same, I think.

Thanks.  It'll be nice to be able to lock the seat down.

I'm worried that I won't have a secure place to stash my atomic fireballs while out for a ride.

In terms of the "K" bikes, K0-K6 seats are all interchangeable.  There are subtle differences in the shape and a different latching mechanism on the K0's (swappable).   The K7 and K8 have different seats that won't fit.  The hinge is on the wrong side for one thing :)
