question: All Ballz kit for gsxr front end on cb750?
« on: July 25, 2012, 01:21:28 PM »
Hey guys first post here, but a long time reader.

I started a new project a few weeks ago and have a question concerning the first step of my project.

I got a 80 cb750c (i know DOHC, but you guys are in the "know") and in the process of updating the suspension. I got a 2005 gsxr front end that i am going to swap out for the old tired forks.

I got everything apart and am going to do the stem swap.

My question is; does anyone know the specific bearing kit from all ballz that i would need for this app?

Thanks for any help

p.s. i know that the cb750c frame is weak and i plan on reinforcing it, thanks

I think you are going to have to call the bearing manufacturer on that one. You will probably need the OD, ID and whatever other measurements for them in order to find the correctly sized bearings.

All Balls doesn't sell a kit, if you go to their fork conversion page it will list the part numbers needed for the swap.

If you wish you can give them a call tell them the models/years which you plan to swap and they can confirm the part numbers for you and even process your order over the phone.

I ordered my "kit" about a month ago. the measurements check out but I haven't installed it as my frame is incomplete and I wish to powder coat the frame. so I cant confirm everything is perfect yet.

+1 on the above. The SOHC CB750's have a very odd ball OD at 48.5mm (I have no idea what your DOHC CB has for an OD). When I put a GSXF front end on my CB, it just took one phone call to All Ballz to find a set of bearings that could work together to make up the "Set" that I needed. They are a really great crew there.
