New guy from Ardmore, TN
« on: August 13, 2012, 04:19:04 PM »
Hey guys, New to old bikes, new to cruisers, and new to carburetors. I've got a 74 CB550 with a ton of issues, and I'll be sure to ask about them in the appropriate subforum. Anyways, I bought her a couple days ago for $650. It runs, technically, and is rideable, technically.

But yeah, this is by far the oldest vehicle I have owned. Other than this, my 92 300ZX TT is the oldest thing I've owned. Never tuned a carburetor. So yeah, this should be a fun journey.

Anyways, Overall plans are to get it running well, and eventually cafe it. Not sure what the sentiment is on that over here, but I've never been a huge cruiser fan, though this one is very comfy.

Haha, figured I'd ask what the sentiment was, since some people are so adamantly opposed to doing anything with a classic bike like this other than restore it to factory showroom condition. Glad we don't have a bunch of elitists over here :)
